Have you found that "almost perfect" house plan, but wish it had a few minor, or even major changes?

Local resident Benton Fudge is helping make dream houses come true across the region, taking ideas and turning them into blueprints. Fudge is an architectural drafter and owner of South Central Designs, located at the corner of Jamestown and Tutt streets.

"I've had people come in here with a house plan book and they love the elevation, and they love the floor plan, but it's too big or they want to move things around; it's not quite what they want. I usually take their ideas and go from there," Benton said.

Sometimes, the plans aren't quite that complete, he added. "I've had people come in pretty much with a little sketch on a napkin, and I've gone off that before as well," he said.

Fudge can get the floor plan ready and quickly and can save a customer $100 on average on each set of plans. "That's a $100 that can go toward construction," he added.

"Once the customer knows what he or she wants, it usually only takes a few days to prepare a plan," Fudge said.

South Central Designs also designs churches and commercial buildings. Blueprints include room dimensions, elevations, window and door schedules, kitchen and bath layout, and more.
